Police body-camera footage captures deadly Pueblo shooting

From KOAA5 (Colorado Springs):  The Pueblo Police Department has released the body-camera video of a deadly officer-involved shooting.

It happened in January earlier this year, less than a week after the department first got the cameras.

News5 obtained this through an open records request from police.

One officer out of the seven involved had his body camera recording from the very beginning of a chase to the end of a deadly shootout with police, leaving 26-year-old Orlando Lopez dead on-scene. Police say this incident happened during a shift change, so other officers didn’t have time to put their cameras on as they quickly responded.

As a warning, this video may be graphic for some.

The video comes from the perspective of Officer Jeremy Mathews. He was looking for two suspects that had just allegedly broken into a home off of 10th Street. The men led police on a two-mile pursuit, ending up near the Praise Assembly Church.
