Brighton councilman Kris Jordinelli censured over bizarre behavior during virtual council meeting

The Denver Post: A Brighton city councilman was censured by his colleagues Tuesday night following a disjointed rant he gave during a council meeting earlier this month — words he attributed to being under the influence of alcohol and medication.

The council voted 6-1 to censure Kris Jordinelli, for exhibiting behavior during a Sept. 15 council meeting that is “inconsistent with the values and ideals of the Council or the City of Brighton,” according to a city press release.

Jordinelli, who was elected last November, first commented to his colleagues about the red hue of his face during a virtual council meeting before launching into a bizarre diatribe. Fox31, which was first to report on Jordinelli’s behavior, said the councilman’s behavior was concerning enough that the council agreed to send someone to his house to check up on him.
