Colorado Hometown Weekly: The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research filed an amended complaint on Wednesday in its lawsuit aiming to protect the National Center for Atmospheric Research, claiming that federal agencies have failed to respond to UCAR’s request for public records.

The amended complaint claims that the National Science Foundation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Office of Management and Budget have failed to respond to UCAR’s public records requests it filed with the agencies in March and April.

Freedom of Information Act law requires each agency to determine within 20 working days whether it will comply with the request. An agency may extend that period by no more than 10 additional working days in “unusual circumstances,” and with written notice.
