County pays for Starbucks, Land’s End and barbecue, but it all appears to be legit

Colorado Springs Independent: Why would El Paso County pay a bill to Starbucks for $15.15? Or what about a payment made to Land’s End for $210.78? Not to mention $23,333.07 for Dickey’s Barbecue Pit.

Those and hundreds of other expenditures appear once a month in the daily newspaper’s legal publications section.

It’s impossible to know how many residents review the expenditures, which usually cover more than a full newsprint page and appear in tiny type normally reserved for sports scores and stats.
