Download 2015 guide to Colorado sunshine laws

A new edition of the “Sunshine Laws” guide, revised for 2015, is now available for download as a pdf.

Produced by the Colorado Freedom of Information Coalition and the Colorado Press Association, this 18-page reference booklet is an essential overview of Colorado’s open meetings and open records laws. Both the governor’s office and the state attorney general’s office have endorsed it.SunshineBook2015coversmall

The guide previously was updated in fall 2013. Among other revisions, the new edition reflects statutory changes to the cost of public records requested under the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA).

In addition to information on CORA and the Open Meetings Law (aka the Sunshine Law), the booklet includes what you need to know about cameras in the courtroom, juvenile records, jail records and the reporter’s shield law.

A paper version will be available soon. To inquire about getting copies, email us at coloradofoic@gmail.com.
