9NEWS: Colorado Parks and Wildlife did not plan on telling Coloradans it was trying to capture wolves in Grand County until after the operation finished, according to emails 9NEWS Investigates obtained from CPW Director Jeff Davis.
“I am really seeing that due to a leak, we had to announce this in the middle of the operation when we weren’t able to share more details,” Davis emailed at 12:53 p.m. on Aug. 30.
CPW captured six wolves: two adults, one of which died, and their four pups. CPW has been holding the surviving wolves in captivity since. CPW also later announced it did not capture one pup.
