From The Mountain Mail (Salida): Three years of legal battles came to a halt Monday when the Colorado Supreme Court issued a denial of Marilyn Marks’ petition for a rehearing in a case against Chaffee County.
Marks is an election transparency advocate who sued Chaffee County in two different lawsuits that have been playing out in the Colorado and federal courts at all levels over the last few years.
The case before the Colorado Supreme Court dealt with attorney fees in a case that arose after Marks was denied access in 2011 to voted ballots from Chaffee County’s previous general election.
