Residents, online commenters question Evergreen Park and Recreation District’s camera use, alleged removal of social media comments

Canyon Courier: A chaotic public comment session ensued at the Jan. 9  Evergreen Park and Recreation District board meeting when more than 260 people from around the world attended via Zoom. Most were there in support of Kittredge homeowner Taralyn Romero and criticized the board for allegedly removing comments from the EPRD Facebook page.

Romero, who has a large social media following, settled a property rights lawsuit with Jefferson County Open Space last year. Her home borders the EPRD-operated Kittredge Park.

Earlier this month, Romero said EPRD had pointed a camera at her home. EPRD erected the camera in 2023 and removed it Jan. 5, according to the district. That was the same day Romero shared her concerns about it on social media.
