McIntyre and Wiggins: Time to let the public back in

Ouray County Plaindealer: The Ouray County commissioners met in person this week, in a meeting where the public was restricted to online attendance.

We sent reporter Liz Teitz to cover the meeting, which included an item on the county’s mask ordinance. She has been writing about it for months.

Her arrival caused a bit of confusion with some commissioners who were not expecting to see anyone but themselves, the county administrator and the clerk to the board in the hearing room. They discussed consulting the county attorney about Teitz’s attendance.

Interesting question. They didn’t kick her out, but one commissioner was clearly concerned her presence was somehow opening the door for others.
