Cañon City Daily Record: Events leading up to the recent termination of former city manager Mike Patterson slowly are unfolding, but citizens are demanding answers to a host of unanswered questions.

After a two-hour executive session Aug. 31, the Florence City Council unanimously voted to terminate Patterson, effective immediately, and banned him from being on any city property.

“The City does not typically comment on matters of employment, however, the City can confirm that the City Council terminated the City Manager on August 31, 2021,” the city said in a statement released Friday. “Additionally, this matter may be subject to investigation and may be subject to litigation.  Therefore, the City has no further comment at this time.”
