NewsBreak Denver: In an unexpected turn of events, attorneys for the four conservative DougCo school board members handed over materials in training binders used during a private retreat in Estes Park last November.

The board members fought an extensive legal battle to keep the documents hidden from the public, saying they weren’t public information because the officers hadn’t been sworn in yet.

Many assumed they’d never see what the binders included after the board majority won their case earlier this month. The judge ruled the binders weren’t public, saying they were “akin to library books someone had before entering into office.”
