Appeals court grants CU motion to stay records release in presidential search lawsuit

Daily Camera (Boulder): Colorado’s Court of Appeals on Thursday granted a motion to stay the release of records related to University of Colorado’s 2019 search for a new system president.

The motion allows CU to not release the name and application materials of a sixth candidate for system president, which Denver District Court A. Bruce Jones ordered CU to release in March as a result of a lawsuit filed by the Daily Camera.

CU maintains that six people interviewed by the Board of Regents for the position of system president were not finalists and their names and applications are not subject to disclosure under the Colorado Open Records Act. President Mark Kennedy was announced as the sole finalist.
