$2,550 for public records in Jefferson County? Colorado residents say they’re tired of hurdles

The Denver Gazette: In response to Natalie Menten’s public records request to Jefferson County for emails exchanged between government employees and consultants, officials said the bill would cost $2,550.

The request — which the county said would have included 85 hours of research, review and redaction for more than 5,000 emails — wasn’t the first time Menten had faced such a hurdle.

And she’s not the only one, either.
