By nature, we are all skeptics. When public officials or government institutions tell us “what is,” we instinctively think “Is that so? Prove it.”
This week is Sunshine Week, an annual celebration of our rights, as citizens, to hold our public servants accountable by inspecting “public records” and observing meetings of public bodies at which any “public business” is discussed, whether or not “formal action” is taken.
