Editorial: Why the secrecy on judge’s removal from the bench?

From The Denver Post:  Denver officials have failed to release information about one of their own — Judge Kerry Hada, who apparently was removed from the bench on Sept. 11 and escorted from the courthouse after behaving erratically.

That information was gleaned by Denver Post reporter Tom McGhee only through sources who requested anonymity.

Denver officials aren’t saying what happened. They have refused to discuss it, citing privacy concerns and saying the “integrity of the investigation outweighs” providing information or records.

Why is it too damaging to release information involving a public official when that information is regularly released about everyone else — as it should be?
