Editorial: Journalism in an age of outbreak

The Greeley Tribune: We in the journalism world like to believe we’re vital all the time. And the truth is, there’s a good argument to say we are.

Maybe we flatter ourselves. There are plenty of times we fall short of our lofty ideals — we’ll admit it. We assure you, we’re always striving for that mark, but we’re human. It doesn’t always work out the way we hope.

But weeks like this past week are the kind where it becomes less about flattery — and less about us, really — and more about simply being a conduit for the facts and truths that are constantly shifting like unstable sands beneath our collective feet.
