CU Regents appeal open records ruling on presidential search

Daily Camera (Boulder): University of Colorado’s Board of Regents will seek to appeal a Denver District Court ruling that they violated the Colorado Open Records Act by refusing to release the names and application materials of finalists for system president.

The board voted 5-4 in a special meeting today to appeal Judge A. Bruce Jones’ ruling, which found that regents improperly denied the Daily Camera’s open records request for names and applications materials of six people they interviewed for system president.

Regents John Carson, Chance Hill, Heidi Ganahl, Glen Gallegos and Sue Sharkey voted in favor, and Regents Jack Kroll, Irene Griego, Linda Shoemaker and Lesley Smith voted against.
