Estes Park Trail-Gazette: A review of Internal Affairs (IA) records in the Estes Park Police Department conducted by the Town of Estes Park staff in late January has raised concerns by town administrators that IA records managed between 2004 and 2018 may have been destroyed before they met the correct retention date.

Information about the records and about inconsistencies in past records management and retention practices was made public in a written statement released by Town Administrator Travis Machalek on Friday.

According to Machalek the review “has raised significant questions about past records management and retention practices.”
