Aurora residents concerned about lack of transparency in police chief hiring

FOX31: Aurora City Council members have four days to decide if they will accept the man named by City Manager Jason Batchelor to take the reins of the Aurora Police Department.

The newly announced chief spoke at the Aurora Police Department on Thursday, stating he has a passion for law enforcement done “properly and ethically.” He spoke at length about establishing relationships among the community to ensure trust.

Todd Chamberlain boasts over 35 years in law enforcement, including time as the chief of police for the Los Angeles Unified School District. His appointment will be brought before the Aurora City Council on Monday, Aug. 26, for official approval.
