Aurora City Council removes public call line from meetings after ‘racist comments’

FOX31: On Monday, the Aurora City Council removed the public call line from their meetings after Mayor Mike Coffman said racist comments were made during a previous meeting.

The Aurora City Council voted to amend the rules concerning public comment after Coffman said racist comments were made. Coffman said a call-in-line affected other communities as well, where one city stopped the line after calls came in from around the country.

The council members voted in agreement to end the call-in-line, pushing people who want to participate in the meeting to show up in person. The majority of council members were in favor of this amendment.
