From Fox31 (Denver):  There are new questions about transparency related to Littleton Public Schools after the sheriff’s office released its report on the shooting at Arapahoe High School that happened last December.

There was a news conference Friday where the report was released. There was in-depth detail about the crime itself, including the fact that the student who shot and killed fellow student Claire Davis planned the attack for months.

But Littleton schools superintendent Scott Murphy repeatedly refused to answer questions about what school officials knew about threats from the shooter Karl Pierson before the incident happened.

Murphy cited Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act as the reason for refusal to answer the questions. But, FOX31 Denver found the law designed to protect student records doesn’t apply when the student is deceased. The shooter killed himself inside the school during the December 13 incident.
