Northglenn Thornton Sentinel: Thornton officials are looking at ways to shield their city council meetings from being “hate bombed” during the public comment period that allows residents to speak to council members.
Ideas floated during Tuesday night’s council planning session included limiting public comment to only city-and-community-related items, requiring speakers to identify themselves and the topic they want to cover and allowing the mayor to cut speakers off when they veer off topic.
Another option is to allow public comments during the last portion of the council meeting or to eliminate public comments from the meetings altogether.
