‘This takes the cake’: County manager, attorney out after commissioner requests resignations; deputy manager also leaves

Montrose Press: Montrose County is down three key positions after its manager, deputy manager and attorney all resigned.

County Manager Frank Rodriguez and County Attorney Marti Whitmore resigned when asked to turn in their resignations, while the deputy manager, Emily Sanchez, also resigned.

“Two commissioners came into my office and asked me to resign,” Whitmore confirmed Monday afternoon. She added that it was not a voluntary resignation — and later Monday evening issued a statement withdrawing the resignation if the county’s position is that it was voluntary.
