Passed-over Pueblo D70 board candidates raise concerns in legal letter

The Pueblo Chieftain: A letter raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding the appointment of Susie Carnes to the Pueblo County School District 70 board and requesting immediate changes has been sent to board leadership on behalf of the other three candidates who applied for the position.

Jonathan Lewis, Tara Stroesenreuther and Adolph Vigil’s concerns were summarized in a March 4 letter from Colorado attorney Eric Maxfield obtained by the Chieftain.

The passed-over board candidates request “urgent action” be taken for the board to “come into compliance with the Colorado Constitution, statutes, and the Board’s own policies,” including the invalidation and rehearing of “any action taken without lawful quorum, without adequate notice or in violation of Open Meetings requirements.”
