ICE claims Colorado law enforcement leaked news of raid, then deletes accusation

9NEWS: Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons accused Colorado law enforcement of leaking information about a February 2025 immigration raid in Aurora during congressional testimony Thursday. The claims were then amplified in now-deleted social posts — posts deleted after 9NEWS reached out to ICE asking about the claims.

Lyons testified before Congress on Thursday that state and local law enforcement leaked the operation targeting Tren de Aragua (TdA) gang members at an Aurora apartment complex.

“I’ll give you the example of Aurora, Colorado. We were going to serve a criminal warrant on an apartment complex of known TdA gang members that was full. We tried to work with the state and local government, they made notifications that the operation was ongoing, so when tactical teams arrived, protesters were already there and the apartment complex was empty,” Lyons testified.
