Denver cuts off Loveland’s access to Flock license plate-reading camera data

9NEWS: The most populated city in Colorado is removing Loveland’s access to its Flock automated license plate reading data, after 9NEWS obtained records that showed Loveland Police has shared access to its Flock data with U.S. Border Patrol.

Denver has 111 Flock cameras around the city, which are used to help solve crimes, notably auto theft, and track down homicide suspects.

A spokesperson for Denver Mayor Mike Johnston said Denver Police have now revoked the Loveland Police Department’s access to Denver’s tracking data, as Denver looks into the circumstances surrounding the sharing agreement between Loveland and U.S. Border Patrol.
