The editor and publisher of the Sidney Sun-Telegraph newspaper in rural northwest Nebraska looked in amazement at the resume for her newest reporter, A. “We were all super excited,” Perez said of the April 2023 hire. “Like, wow, why would someone with that much experience, why would she be here?”
