A bill to relax Colorado’s open meetings law sparks fear public policy will be formed in secret

KUNC: Transparency advocates are strongly opposing an effort by Colorado’s most powerful state lawmakers to relax open meeting requirements for those working at the statehouse.

Senate Bill 157 would let state lawmakers discuss bills and other public business electronically with each other by email or text message without the communications constituting a public meeting.

And it would only apply to the 100 state lawmakers, not local government officials.
